online – PDA-CA cure for “Proposition Confusion” syndrome?

October 2, 2022 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

No charge for anyone. “Medicare for All” NOT Required.

Causes include:  Hearing something good about a proposition then hearing something bad about the same proposition.
Which is a fact?  Which is “Strategic Ambiguity” (a lie by selectively modifying the “facts”?)
Symptoms: Confusion, frustration, cynicism and the tendency to vote “No” on everything on the ballot.

The Cure:

Join PDA-CA Next Sunday, October 2 at 4:00 p.m. for a statewide forum on the statewide propositions
and say goodbye to Proposition Confusion

Save your spot! CLICK HERE: Register NOW

( us06web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZEpc-GvqTksGtCgN670jaKxZ7oM9BgfAsuY )

DO NOT FORWARD THE “Join” LINK IN THE ZOOM CONFIRMATION EMAIL!  It is personalized for you.

We’ll have the following experts to apply the cure:

We are thrilled to announce that Mimi Kennedy will be the moderator.  Mimi is well known among PDA people. She is a lifetime progressive activist and has been on the board of PDA since it was founded in 2004. She is a working actor with 105 film and television credits plus more credits for her work as a screen writer and producer.

Mimi will introduce…

  1. A non-partisan guest from the League of Women Voters who will describe each of the propositions telling us what each really means.
  2. A person for each proposition to discuss if each proposition is worth a yes (or no) vote.
  3. A Q&A for each proposition where you can ask a (1 minute) question of our experts.
  4. We will have a straw poll at the end to see if and how you will likely vote on the propositions once we cover them all. The vote will be by “Zoom ballot.”  To participate in the poll, we strongly recommend you join the meeting on a computer, a smartphone or tablet, but not a dial-in phone like a flip-phone or a landline phone since they do not have video.

We will let all of our California members know the results of the straw poll and how to watch the recording of the meeting on YouTube.

These are the statewide propositions on the November ballot –

Proposition 1 – Change the California Constitution to expressly include existing rights to reproductive freedom.

  • Claudia Powell, Senior Public Affairs Specialist – Planned Parenthood, Los Angeles will be discussing Prop. 1 with us.

Proposition 26 – Legalize sports betting at tribal casinos.

  • Mary Ann Andreas, Chair of the CDP Native American Caucus, will be discussing both Prop. 26 and Prop. 27 with us.

  • Mary Ann Andreas as with Prop 26.

In Solidarity, for a Progressive California,

Mike Thaller, President PDA-CA  (Progressive Democrats of America – California)  and the rest of the PDA-CA leaders.

Can you help pitch in?

This upcoming meeting is by no means a fund raiser in disguise, but we still have expenses that we need to cover.  If you are so inclined CLICK OR TAP HERE to pitch in! We want to keep PDA-CA up and running, so even an optional small (or large) recurring donation would be extremely helpful!
