Please join us Thursday, February 22nd at 4pm PST / 7pm EST for a special webcast in celebration of Black History Month: No justice, No Peace: The Pending Agenda for Peace and Justice for Afro Descendants in the Americas.”

We will hear from some of the most influential Black solidarity organizers and Black leaders from Latin America, all members of the Black Co-Networks, a platform of the People’s Movement for Peace and Justice.

In this special conversation, our speakers will reflect on the accomplishments and failures of governments in advancing justice and peace for Black communities across the Americas. 

Panelists include: 
  • Ali Bantu Ashanti, Director of the Racial Justice Collective in Colombia. Mr. Ashanti is a strong advocate for justice in the cases of Black victims of police brutality.
  • Jorden Giger is a South Bend, Indiana native and co-founder of Black Lives Matter South Bend. He worked as an educator in his community and recently served as the Director of Outreach for Black Lives Matter Grassroots. Black Co-Networks facilitator. 
  • Carla Garcia, Black Co-Networks facilitator. 
  • Pedro Sergio Peñalosa is an Afro Mexican leader elected to congress in 2018 and the founder of the Black caucus in The Mexican congress.
