While migrant caravans, corruption, and violence dominate the headlines, the Honduran people are leading the struggle against neo-colonial intervention. Join us for a presentation and discussion with leaders on the ground, as well as past delegates from the SHARE Foundation’s July 2021 delegation to Honduras.
In July, the international delegation arrived to support the “Vamos a La Milpa” campaign. The campaign is being led by a coalition of Honduran organizations in support of food sovereignty in Indigenous and Campesinx communities. In addition to this campaign, presenters will discuss efforts to resist U.S. neo-colonial intervention within the current political context of Honduras. This includes:
- Movements to defend land and water in Guapinol
- Resisting ZEDES, extractive foreign investment zones
- Upcoming elections on Nov. 28th and how U.S. intervention and military aid has bolstered instability and migration in the region
