In Atlas of the Jewish-Arab Conflict, Shaul Arieli gives a clear, concise history of the conflict, from modern Jewish immigration to the country to the present day. The Atlas, which you may download for free here which includes dozens of coloured maps and brief texts that offer a wealth of information. In this webinar, Dr. Arieli will present the story his Atlas tells, using graphics to illustrate his talk. He will discuss what he considers the best solution to the conflict. And he will take your questions.

Born in Ashkelon, Shaul Arieli is a leading expert on the Israeli-Palestinian political process, on the demarcation of a future Israeli-Palestinian border and on the route of the current Separation Barrier. During his military service, he served in the paratroopers in various command positions and was wounded twice. While in the military, he was responsible for the preparation of official negotiations with the Palestinians, as head of the Interim Agreement Administration under the Rabin government, and head of the Peace Administration in the Barak Government. Since retiring from the IDF in 2001, Dr. Arieli has dedicated himself to advancing an Israeli-Palestinian permanent status agreement. He is currently a teaching fellow at the Herzliya Interdisciplinary Center, and at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

He is also Research Fellow at the Truman Institute for Peace and at the Israel Policy Forum, a senior researcher at the Economic Cooperation Foundation, one of the initiators and leaders of the Geneva Agreement, and a member of the Steering Committee of Commanders for Israel’s Security. He has published widely on Israeli-Palestinian issues in both Hebrew and English.
