Colombia Delegation Recruitment Event

September 23, 2021 @ 4:00 pm

Our Colombia Program Co-directors will be calling in from Colombia to give us an overview of the delegation, highlight partners on the ground and provide updates on COVID protocols while traveling. Coordinator Naima Dhore will share her vision for the delegation titled,  Food Sovereignty, Sustainable Farming and the Resistance Against Corporate Land Control. There will be time for participants to engage and ask questions. We hope you will join us next week! Register here in advance.

Food Sovereignty, Sustainable Farming and the Resistance Against Corporate Land Control
Dates: December 11-20, 2021

This delegation will look to explore questions about peace in Colombia: Can peace be maintained without women, Afro-Colombian and Indigenous communities being integrally involved? How do grassroots social movements challenge the corporate model and maintain sovereignty over lands, water, seeds and cultures? Delegates on this trip will explore ways in which Colombian communities are resisting the current military and free trade policies through cultural restoration and leadership of food sovereignty initiatives. This delegation is open and preferable to people who identify as Black, Indigenous, and People of Color.
