online- Europe in Crisis: Implications for Peace
Monday, 30 June 2025 9:00 am - 10:30 am
Add event to your Google calendarIn the midst of tectonic and dangerous geopolitical change, Europe and the NATO nations are becoming warfare, not welfare states. This will be consolidated in this month’s NATO summit.
Caught between Trump shocks, the Ukraine War, and the Russia/China quasi alliance, Europe is in the midst of war, turmoil, and massive remilitarization. In addition to increasing the danger of war, massive cuts in social welfare spending provide openings for renewed European fascism. France, Germany, Britain, and Poland are pressing military collaboration and creation of a new European Union military within and potentially independent from NATO as anti-Russian fervor takes hold. Germany’s massive rearmament adds to anxiety in Paris as well as in Moscow. And incidents in the Baltic Sea could lead to escalating – even nuclear – conflict. To help our movements respond, MAPA and Campaign for Peace, Disarmament and Common Security (CPDCS) have organized this webinar featuring Kate Hudson and Reiner Braun.
Kate Hudson is a British political activist and academic and vice-president of the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND) and co-national secretary of Left Unity. She has served as CND chair, general secretary from 2010 to 2024, and as an officer of the Stop the War Coalition. She is a board member of the International Peace Bureau.
Reiner Braun is a German journalist, historian, and peace activist. Until recently, he was executive director of the International Peace Bureau and previously served as IPB president. Reiner has been involved in the peace movement since 1982. He worked for the Krefeld Appeal against nuclear weapons, was a founding member of the International Network of Engineers and Scientists for Global Responsibility and was executive director of the German section of the International Association of Lawyers against Nuclear Arms.

online- Peace & Justice Conversations: U.S. Policy in Iran and Yemen
Monday, 30 June 2025 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Add event to your Google calendarrsvp at https://actionnetwork.org/events/peace-justice-conversations-us-fueled-violence-in-yemen-sudan?clear_id=true Senator Tim Kaine (D-VA) and Representatives Khanna (D-CA) and Massie (R-KY) introduced War Powers Resolutions in the Senate and House, respectively, to prevent further U.S. involvement in Israel’s war with Iran. War Powers Resolutions are privileged, meaning members of Congress can fast track their bills for a debate and a vote by the full legislative body. Members of Congress must go on record with where they stand: against an unconscionable, illegal war that will lead to the deaths of more civilians, or in favor of unconditional military support to a government that continues to violate both U.S. and international human rights law.
Join a conversation with Isaac Evans-Frantz to learn more about war powers resolutions, how activists used these to help stop Saudi/U.S. bombing of Yemen, and how people in New Hampshire can take action to stop further U.S. participation in Israel's war with Iran.
Isaac Evans-Frantz is the director of Action Corps, which campaigns for US policies to save lives globally. With Isaac’s leadership, Action Corps played a pivotal role in Congress’ historic passage of the Yemen War Powers Resolution in 2019. Isaac serves on the Vermont Sierra Club executive committee and the advisory board of Freedom Forward where he has advocated for LGBTQ people globally.
About NHPA’s bi-weekly Zoom Peace & Justice Conversation Series: 2020’s upheavals brought us to a new moment of reckoning and possibility. How do we want to live in the world? What do we value? How can we make the changes we’ve been yearning for? NH Peace Action has been engaged in working for change for decades. We’d like to bring you into these conversations about issues and options for the future. There is no charge to attend, but your contributions in any amount are greatly appreciated. -

Tuesday, 01 July 2025 4:00 pm - 6:30 pm
Add event to your Google calendarrsvp at https://www.codepink.org/dissenters71
The US and Israel's attacks on Iran over the past two weeks are just the latest in a long history of U.S. attacks that only bring more pain and suffering — not for the powerful, but for everyday people. It’s families, workers, kids, and elders who always pay the price — in Iran, in Palestine, across Southwest Asia, in Haiti, Sudan, the Congo, and here at home.
Meanwhile, the US is spending nearly $850 billion on the military in 2025 — while so many of us in our generation are struggling with food insecurity, skyrocketing rent, underfunded schools, student debt, and no access to basic healthcare. Most young people in the U.S. don’t want another war. We want the government to invest in what we actually need: care, education, clean water, affordable housing, mental health support, and a real shot at a better future.
On this virtual call we will:
Connect with other young people in rage & grief.
Hear important analysis of WTF the US and Israel just did in Iran.
Uplift ongoing Palestinian-led struggle against Israel’s US-backed genocide in Gaza.
Share resources for taking action to stop war with Iran, and beyond.
Featuring special guests Clarissa Bitar, Hoda Katebi, Dissenters youth organizers, and more!
We can’t stay silent. We’re calling on young people — especially those in the U.S. who care about justice, who are scared about rising authoritarianism, and who want to build a truly regenerative society — to stand up, speak out, and take action.
Join us on Tuesday July 1 to demand No War with Iran & to Block Bombs to Israel!

online- Your Brain & The Local Peace Economy
Wednesday, 02 July 2025 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Add event to your Google calendarrsvp at https://www.codepink.org/lpe0702. Laurel Mellin is a health psychologist and founder of Emotional Brain Training. This brain-based practice strengthens resilience and liberates us to think expansively, creating more peace, love, and joy. EBT further validates the local peace economy based on neuroscience and provides a personal practice consistent with indigenous practices to prevent hopelessness, depression, and addiction.
As the military-industrial complex encodes itself in our unconscious mind without our awareness, EBT can provide another way to ground ourselves and rewire our thinking in favor of the local peace economy. The techniques enhance our effectiveness day by day in navigating grief more easily, as well as in caring more deeply.
Her organization, EBT.org, equips people with the community support to develop a personal practice in resilience, optimal health and activism. The event will include a conversation about the power of the emotional brain to support the local peace economy work and introduce actionable skills to begin developing an EBT practice.

To fight climate change, we need to demilitarize, end wars and US imperialism, free Palestine, facilitate the repatriation of Indigenous land, and get the mainstream environmental movement to join us along the way. The world's climate movement must hold anti-militarism as a core pillar!

online- Okinawa: Occupation & Resistance Webinar
Tuesday, 15 July 2025 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Add event to your Google calendarrsvp at https://www.codepink.org/freeokinawa For over seven decades, the U.S. military has maintained a massive presence in Okinawa—occupying land, polluting the environment, and endangering local communities in the name of “security.” Today, this occupation is increasingly justified by Washington as a response to the perceived “China threat,” escalating tensions in the region while deepening the burden on Okinawan people.
This webinar will examine the devastating human and ecological costs of U.S. militarism on the island, from toxic PFAS contamination and noise pollution to sexual violence and political disenfranchisement. Okinawan voices have long demanded justice, demilitarization, and sovereignty—demands consistently ignored by both Washington and Tokyo. Join us as we unpack the history and ongoing consequences of this occupation and discuss what solidarity and accountability can look like today.
Speakers
Joseph Essertier is an associate professor at the Nagoya Institute of Technology, a scholar of modern Japanese literature, an editorial board member of the Asia-Pacific Journal: Japan Focus, and an international human rights advocate.
Hideki Yoshikawa is a Nago resident anthropologist teaching at Meio University and the University of the Ryukyus, International director of the Save the Dugong Campaign Center and Director of the Okinawa Environmental Justice Project. He is the author of several major articles at The Asia-Pacific Journal.
The final speaker will be announced soon. CONTACT Megan · megan@codepink.org -

online- Maduro-led Forces Sweep Elections while US Silent: Discussion with Eyewitnesses
Sunday, 27 July 2025 8:00 am - 9:00 am
Add event to your Google calendarIn the regional elections for the unicameral national Parliament in Venezuela, the alliance led by the Partido Socialista Unido de Venezuela increased its margin, winning approximately 90% of the 256 seats and about 82% of the votes. Additionally, it won 23 out of 24 gubernatorial races. What did the Chavista forces do this time around that differed from previous elections?
Since the May 25 elections, there has been no communication from the US government. Why has it been so uncharacteristically silent about the election results? On the other hand, Canada uncharacteristically jumped the gun on its master, the US, resulting in Yvan Gill, the Venezuelan foreign minister, decrying Canada as “the 51st state of the United States” and questioning its moral authority to comment on democratic processes.
Speakers:
Sonya Surabhi Gupta (Professor, Latin American Studies, Jamia Millia Islamia Central University in New Delhi)
