Sacpeace Community Conversations on vital issues of the day
September 1 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm
Sacramento Area Peace Action Invites You To Join Us In
ON VITAL ISSUES OF THE DAY
3:00 – 4:30 pm – First Sunday of the Month
In the flood of information and dis-information on the major
media, as well as social media, we don’t have a chance to speak
directly to each other. These conversations will be “hybrid,” both
in-person and online. Join in person at our office, or from home.
This is a chance to share your own ideas about what’s going
on, and to hear from other members of our local community.
In-Person
909 12th St., (corner of I St.), Downtown Sacramento.
Light rail stops at the corner right across I Street. Parking is
available in the lot of the closed auto repair shop on I Street.
We’ll be providing snacks and refreshments!

Upcoming Conversation Topics
Sept. 1st – Threats of Nuclear War & Nuclear Weapons
Even beyond the threat of nuclear war itself, there are many
perils in the mining, refining, and manufacture of nuclear
materials, as well as the problems of disposal and storage of
waste that will be dangerous for thousands of years.
Many Americans, and other peoples around the world are
still at risk from the residual effects of atmospheric testing of
nukes since 1945, when the first atomic bomb was exploded in
New Mexico without evacuating people living nearby. Later
tests spread radioactive pollution across most of the US.
Oct. 6th – The Mess in the Middle East
The current genocide in Gaza is only the latest symptom of
misguided foreign policies that, since the end of WW I have
created a patchwork of European-designed countries that did not
take into account the diversity of ethnicities and religious groups
in the area. The result has been almost endless conflict since then.
With the looming threat of a general war breaking out in the
region between Israel and Iran, possibly dragging in both regional
and other international powers, we need to understand what is
really happening, and look at possible solutions to bring peace.
Help us select future topics!
Here are some of the ideas we have for November and December,
but we’d also like to hear from you about other things to discuss.
Feel free to call us at 916 4487157 and leave a message, or email us
