  • online- Is Cuba Next?

    Thursday, 29 January 2026  9:00 am - 10:00 am

     REGISTER
The United States’ dramatic kidnapping of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and the bombing of Caracas left many wondering if Cuba might be next. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has long pushed for regime change in Havana, and President Trump recently said that Cuba “is ready to fall,” warning the government to “make a deal now before it’s too late.” As the Cuban people face their worst economic and humanitarian crises in decades, and the U.S. demands Venezuela’s interim president cut energy and security ties with its longtime ally, what might a workable deal between the U.S. and Cuban governments look like now?

  • online- PeaceAction- Nida Allam Meet the Candidates

    Thursday, 29 January 2026  4:15 pm - 5:15 pm

Register here to join us online on Zoom and pose your questions to Nida

Nida is running for the 4th Congressional District in NC, where she previously ran in 2022. Unfortunately, AIPAC was threatened by Nida’s strong progressive values and support for peace and human rights, and donated nearly $3 million to Nida’s opponent, who went on to narrowly win the seat. But 2026 is not 2022. Thanks to activists like you — who have worked tirelessly to draw attention to the plight of Gazans — that same opponent, and now incumbent, faced public pressure to reject AIPAC donations, giving Nida a real chance at victory. Of course, as dedicated journalists have found, AIPAC still has ways to mask its giving and channel it through other sources, so Nida will need all the support she can get from the grassroots.

Please join us next Tuesday and show Nida that the peace movement has her back in this important primary election!

  • online- Michigan: Ground Zero for War on China Webinar

    Friday, 30 January 2026  12:30 pm - 1:30 pm

     rsvp at https://www.codepink.org/michiganground0

Michigan has become a national ground zero in the U.S. war on China, where its economic, academic, and technological importance has been weaponized by politicians and media to manufacture fear about Chinese people and industry. Across party lines, Michigan politicians have used anti-China hysteria for political gain, producing policies that echo historic racial exclusion rather than genuine security protection.

This webinar will expose how the University of Michigan and federal agencies turned routine research and visa issues involving Chinese scholars into national-security scandals, fueling discrimination and shutting down vital scientific collaboration. It will also detail how Chinese-linked industries like the Gotion battery plant were falsely portrayed as espionage threats despite a lack of evidence, even as Michigan’s own economy depends heavily on Chinese trade and supply chains.

We will be joined by Dana Showtyme Burton, a Detroit native who has spent over 25 year living in China. Burton is a political analyst and hip hop artist, known for fostering a generation of influential rappers across China.

  • National Day of Action- Ice Out

    Friday, 30 January 2026  2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Cesar Chavez Plaza, 910 I St, Sacramento, CA 95814

In solidarity with the national shutdown called in Minneapolis last week, those of us who live elsewhere have been called to join in this Fri, Jan. 30th. The "economic blackout" encourages people to avoid work, school, and shopping for the day to demonstrate opposition to federal immigration enforcement tactics that are violent, dehumanizing, and deadly. This means to turn our back on the war economy and make visible the peace economy where we can. In some cities, there will be rallies, but in others, you will need to create your own response. This national shutdown is essential in building a movement of love and care of people in response to 250 years of genocide, slavery, exploitation, and dehumanization.

  • online- Iran, the US, and Israel: How did we get here?

    Friday, 30 January 2026  3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

     Register

The threat of war continues to loom over Iran. After more than two weeks of nationwide unrest that rocked the country, the protest movement appears temporarily contained following an intense and coordinated security crackdown. Meanwhile, outside actors openly brag about exploiting the situation for their ends, and reports suggest a military strike by the Trump Administration might be imminent.

On Friday, Jan. 30th at 3 pm, NIAC President, Jamal Abdi, will join journalist and analyst Negar Mortazavi and award-winning foreign affairs correspondent and author of All the Shah’s Men, Stephen Kinzer, in conversation. The panel will unpack the current situation inside Iran and the geopolitical landscape, including U.S. and Israeli calculations following the 12-day war last June that killed hundreds of Iranian civilians, and where we go from here.

The event will be online and presentations will be recorded.  Sponsored by NIAC and Massachusetts Peace Action Education Fund.

Our nation and world are in a period of continuing danger and difficulty: The recently passed Pentagon budget is higher than ever and is funding a new generation of nuclear weapons; The tragic Israel/Gaza Conflict continues; The Russia/Ukraine conflict remains a source of increased danger of nuclear war;  The attacks on Venezuela opens a new front of “forever wars”. The egregious costs of the weapons buildups is draining our tax dollars from critical civilian needs, among which are K-12 public schools and higher education. This Conference continues the tradition of trying to increase cooperation and collaboration among those advocating for nuclear disarmament and social and economic justice.

    Saturday, 31 January 2026  5:45 pm - 8:00 pm

    At 909 12th Street, Sacramento, CA 95814

Barnum World was directed by Andrew Treglia (Jones Plantation). It was released in 2025.  The running time is 1:36

Here is the description for it on IMDb:

In an absurd and confusing world that ceased making sense long ago, legendary Hollywood producer and propagandist James "Natty" Jones sits down for an interview. With sober honesty, he pulls back the curtain on the ruling classes and reveals the tricks and schemes these so-called 'elites' use to control and enslave the population. Ever the misanthrope, Natty confidently demonstrates that humanity is imprisoned by a system that may appear broken but is actually working exactly as it is designed to.

  • online- Anti-imperialism in the Sahel

    Sunday, 01 February 2026  8:00 am - 9:00 am

The Alliance of Sahel States (AES) originated on September 16, 2023, bringing together Mali, Niger, and Burkina Faso. Its primary objectives were to improve mutual security, foster independent economic growth, and develop political sovereignty.

In a global context in which the contradiction between the imperial powers and the rising multipolar world continues to sharpen, some see in the AES a sign of one of the major fissures in the imperial world order, and perhaps even the emergence of the early stages of a Pan-African socialist project. Here, they say, we have countries that appear to be taking full advantage of major geopolitical shifts to develop their own projects of national sovereignty, breaking with years of colonial and neocolonial subjugation. Others have raised questions about the role of military rule in these countries, the persistence of neocolonial control mechanisms like the CFA franc, as well as the AES’s reticence to run elections until the countries are on a more sovereign footing (in order to guarantee their democratic legitimacy).

    Thursday, 05 February 2026  8:00 am - 9:00 am

    Register to the webinar

7amleh invites you to a webinar on the collapse of Gaza’s digital economy under blockade and the destruction of telecommunications infrastructure, where we will share key findings and testimonies from Gaza’s digital workers, and reflect on what the loss of connectivity means for livelihoods, survival, and recovery.

Gaza’s digital economy has been pushed to the brink by years of blockade and, since October 2023, by the widespread destruction of telecommunications and power infrastructure. What once served as a fragile lifeline for freelancers, remote workers, and digital entrepreneurs has been severely disrupted, cutting people off from income, communication, and the ability to remain connected to the outside world.

An original history of the popular movement against the War on Terror—the greatest case of “we told you so” in modern political history.

Just after 9/11, President George W. Bush climbed the rubble where the World Trade Center had stood. Surrounded by shouts of anger, he said, “The people who knocked these buildings down will hear all of us soon!” With these words, Bush ushered in the War on Terror. Quickly, a global protest movement mobilized against it, reshaping the political, moral, and media landscape.

Dr. Ivana Nikolic´ Hughes will discuss the urgent need for a negotiated end to the Ukraine War, even with significant concessions to the Russians given the increasingly dire military situation facing the Ukrainians.  This would prevent the US or NATO from escalating with new long-range missiles, troops, or attacks on Russian shipping and other targets– such as the alleged Ukrainian 90-drone ‘decapitation’ attack in late December on one of Russian President Putin’s homes– to try to avoid a total Ukrainian defeat.   Such escalation could trigger WWIII, and a catastrophic nuclear war.

In August 2025, Sari overcame Israeli legal barriers and moved to the West Bank, near Ramallah, to be with her husband, Osama, a Palestinian professor originally from Gaza. Nonetheless, the Israeli military refuses to update his registered home in order to facilitate the expansion of West Bank Jewish settlements and minimize the number of Palestinians living there.
